Itinerary

17th August - Perth to Kalbarri

Departing Perth early this morning we begin our journey north, enjoying the variety of Western Australian Wildflowers along the way.  We stop in at Dongara’s Moreton Terrace en-route to grab a cuppa and enjoy a picnic lunch in the shade of the giant fig trees.

After lunch we continue north, through historic Greenough, the port city of Geraldton and via Lynton Convict Settlement towards Kalbarri. Just before we reach Kalbarri, we take you to some of the most impressive vantage points along this rugged red coastline.  Here you can stretch your legs and enjoy the stunning views, while keeping an eye out for migrating whales, or more commonly, the pods of dolphins regularly gracing these waters.  Once checked in at our accommodation, we’ll freshen up before regrouping and walk to the local pub to enjoy our first evening meal together.

Accommodation: Motel Style - Multi share (unless single requested & available at time.

Meals: Lunch

18th August - Kalbarri to Wooramel Station

After breakfast this morning, we take a drive out to Kalbarri National Park to explore the rugged terrain and relative seclusion of the mighty Murchison Gorge.  We undertake a couple of short walks to access lookouts along the river gorge at The Loop (Nature’s Window) and Z Bend.  Once we’ve enjoyed our time here, we’ll head off to our station stay, arriving in the afternoon, set up camp and have plenty of time to relax in the naturally heated therapeutic artesian bore baths to soothe the muscles.  Later … it’s dinner around the campfire enjoying the amazing night skies and the friendly outback atmosphere

Mid morning we say goodbye to our station friends and drive onto Exmouth.  On our arrival, we’ll check in, set up camp and then we have free time to explore the town, or jump in the pool for a swim before we re-group for dinner.

IMPORTANT: Please read our No Princess Policy to ensure this tour is right for you, prior to booking:  no-princesses.png

To join this tour, you need to be willing to put up and pack down a tent (we work in pairs and we show you how to do it ... it's easy once you've done it), bog in and help with washing up/camp duties, adopt a ‘go with the flow’ attitude and be able to navigate your way up and down rocky steps, through gorges and walk on unstable rocky surfaces at times without assistance. (Some in Karijini are challenging)  You also need to be able to swim.  Most importantly ... it's WA and where we're going is a LONG WAY, we've done our best to keep travelling times to a minimum where possible, however ...you need to be able to handle being in a vehicle for several hours at any one time.

Other things to Note:

You'll have a free day in Exmouth, providing you with the option of joining a full day or half day tour within Ningaloo Reef eg: Kayaking/Snorkelling (Dugongs/Turtles etc), Yardie Creek Boat Tour, or Swimming with the Magical Manta Rays etc - We will provide the options that are available to you, along with the costs.

You may also have the opportunity in Karijini National Park to tackle a full on adventure tour "Canyoning, Abseiling & Tubing in the Red Centre” - Optional Activity at additional Cost to the Tour & Subject to Availability.

The optional tours will be provided to you on booking & should be requested at the time of booking your holiday with us, to ensure you don't miss out.

Also at any time throughout the tour, if you'd rather kick back at camp under the shade of a tree and read a book ... you can!!  It's your holiday and if you choose not to walk, swim or explore on any given day, that's totally cool with us.

Age - No barrier on our tours, just need to have good mobility and a good attitude.  On this particular tour, as a guide ....the ages generally range from 30 through to 65.

Most people join our tours as 'solo' travellers, so you'll never feel alone ... we're a very inclusive & friendly bunch!
