If youd like to see more of Western Australia during the ever popular wildflower season, then join us on our next road trip from Perth to Wave Rock ...the astounding formation in Hyden.

Day 1

Our journey will begin on Saturday morning, where we’ll leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind and head for the bush! We’ll drive through charming country towns, rolling farmlands, huge granite formations and a wide variety of natural vegetation, including spectacular displays of wildflowers.

We’ll break for lunch at Kulin, where you’ll enjoy a picnic lunch prepared by your guide, before we hit the Wheatbelt’s most popular and seriously entertaining drive trail, The Tin Horse Highway. We’ll explore the 15km stretch, stopping along the way for photo opportunities and picking out our favourite horses!

At the end of this stretch, we’ll arrive at Jilakin Lake and Rock, where you can take an easy climb to the top of the rock to take in spectacular views of Jilakin Lake and the surrounding Wheatbelt. Those who do not wish to climb… there is a lovely shady spot where you can enjoy the peaceful surrounds.

From Jilakin Lake, we drive onto Hyden and make a brief stop in town to pick up any supplies required before heading out to Wave Rock Resort. Once we check into our accommodation, you will have plenty of time to explore Wave Rock, Hyden Rock, Hippo’s Yawn and the surrounding walk trails. You may also like to check out the Wildflower Shoppe, Cafe & Visitors Information Centre - a great place to find out about recent wildflower sightings, grab a coffee, or visit one of the tourist sites based here - (Wildlife Park, Miniature Toy Soldier Museum & Lace Collection).

Once you’ve spent time exploring the attractions & walk trails, we’ll take you back to our accommodation on the banks of Lake Magic, where you’ll enjoy a Champagne Sunset! Your guide will then prepare dinner for you, while you sit back and relax.

Day 2

In the morning take a stroll on the banks of Lake Magic, head to Wave Rock for more exploring, or relax at our accommodation. Prior to checking out, lunch items will be made available for you to make up your own picnic lunch to take on board the bus.

Mid morning, we depart from Wave Rock Resort and take a short drive out to the Humps & Mulka’s Cave to explore the legend behind the caves and the aboriginal paintings inside the cave, which are thousands of years old. Afterwards we will enjoy one or two of the interesting walk trails here … sure to be plenty of wildflowers about at this time of year! Take your lunch with you if you like and find a quiet spot to reflect while on your walk, or leave it on the bus to come back to when we’ve finished our time here.

Early afternoon, we will begin our journey back to Perth, stopping en-route at a working cattle station near Hyden, for afternoon tea.

We plan to arrive back in Perth at around 5.30pm Sunday evening.

No Princess Policy

Princess crossed out This tour by it's very nature is not designed for the 5 Star Traveller. It is for the girl who has an 'adventurous spirit' and is looking for a unique and rewarding experience (Once in a Lifetime)! You should be able to adopt a "Go With The Flow" attitude, after-all we are in a foreign country and things don't always go to plan...this will help you chill out and therefore get the best out of your holiday. You will also need to be mobile without assistance - some of the sights require you to be on your feet, navigating steps and uneven surfaces at times. We also have a couple of walks as part of this tour - these walks can be achieved by anyone with a general level of fitness, but again mobility is the key, as with all of our tours.

A very enjoyable trip - challenging, but not overwhelming. I enjoyed traveling with like minded women who were from very diverse backgrounds - all very respectful of their fellow travelers.

Great idea to start with a winetasting - allowing us all to loosen up and get to know one another and then to end with a champagne lunch was a fun/stylish/informal touch!
