The Albany to Denmark section of the Bibbulmun Track is perfect for those wanting an active, but relaxing walking holiday.

On this 7 day fully guided walking holiday you'll be treated to some of the most spectacular coastal scenery in WA's South. Carrying a day pack only, you'll set out each day and explore secluded beaches, marvel at dramatic rocky headlands & sheer cliff faces, wander through beautiful wildflower displays and spy plenty of wildlife along your way.

Walkers with a moderate level of fitness should be able to complete this walk, with daily distances coming in under the 20km mark.  However, some training prior will certainly make the experience more enjoyable, given that there are some steep sections and beach walking involved.

Itinerary

This morning after picking everyone up from the Perth CBD we head south towards the port city of Albany where we begin our first walk on the Bibbulmun Track. Even though today's walk is short and sweet, it'll certainly feel good to get those legs moving after the drive ... and breath in that ocean air!!

Starting at the Southern Terminus of the Bibbulmun Track in Albany, we'll wind our way around the pretty foreshore of the Princess Royal Harbour, passing historical sites along the way and finishing off at Limeburner's Distillery. If time permits, we may be able to go in for a cheeky tasting.

Afterwards, we head off to our beautiful accommodation situated close to Cosy Corner Beach.

Meals: Lunch, Dinner

Accommodation: Twin Share in beautifully appointed 4 star apartments

Today's walk see's us heading into Torndirrup National Park, before making our way out to the coast. The inland coastal heathlands produce a colourful display of wildflowers at this time of year and for those with a keen eye, orchids can be found alongside the sandy tracks. As we emerge from the National Park and head towards the Wind Farm, we're met with magnificent views of the Southern Ocean from dramatic cliffs.... absolutely spectacular!!

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Accommodation: Twin Share in beautifully appointed 4 star apartments

We have a relatively easy walking day today along the spectacular coastline between the rugged cliffs and majestic wind turbines. Again the views are just breathtaking, as are the wildflowers along this stretch of the track. We finish out the day's walking at a lovely little bay .... Time to take the boots off, relax, have a dip if you wish .. just soak in the beauty!

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Accommodation: Twin Share in beautifully appointed 4 star apartments

Starting our day on the beach, we wade our way across the Torbay Inlet (weather/tides permitting, otherwise an alternative route will be taken) and head west towards Cosy Corner Beach where we'll enjoy a break. Once back on the track again, we head through a variety of vegetation types and terrain including forested areas, coastal heath, beaches, bays and granite outcrops, finishing at stunning Shelley Beach. Shelley Beach is very popular for Hang Gliders so if the wind is up, we may see them in flight today.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Accommodation: Twin Share in beautifully appointed 4 star apartments

This morning it's time to tackle a bit of up hill walking while we're bright eyed and bushy tailed. With our 'up hill' work out of the way early on, the rest of the day is relatively easy by comparison. Most of the day will be spent walking within scenic West Cape National Park where wildflower displays are abundant at this time of year, then in the latter part, as we head towards Lowlands Beach, we'll be once again taking in those stunning coastal views.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Accommodation: Twin Share in beautifully appointed 4 star apartments

Another day in paradise! We enjoy both inland and coastal views during our last walking day along this section of the Bibbulmun Track. Toward the end of the day we pass through Nullaki Campsite set nicely among Peppermint trees, where we take a short break before continuing out to peaceful Wilson Inlet, marking the end of our fabulous week of walking.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Accommodation: Twin Share in beautifully appointed 4 star apartments

Today we say goodbye to the Great Southern and return to Perth, stopping along the way to stretch our legs, grab a bite to eat and explore some places of interest.

What a lovely weekend. I was only able to complete two days of the walk due to a knee injury, but the two days I walked the scenery was beautiful. Lovely soft leafy ground underfoot. A really pretty area of WA. As usual our AW guides were absolutely wonderful. And the food was fantastic (Brads Jam drop biscuits were perfect). The accomodation was very nice and perfectly situated so that I still had close access to Pemberton town on the days I could not walk.

A great couple of days on the Kattamorda Heritage Trail. Found the first day trek relatively easy despite the distance and the second day was surprisingly interrupted with lunch at the Mundaring Weir Hotel. Our guide, Imogen, was great very inclusive and nothing was any trouble, thank you Imogen for a great weekend.

This was a fabulous city walk. I grew up in Perth all my life and I discovered places and things on this walk that I never knew existed. Jazzy is just amazing, full of knowledge and patience and just a fabulous host. Thank you for an amazing day. And I loved Brads biscuits, which are always a highlight for me.
