Arrive at a time to suit you in Mackay on Friday. (We can suggest accommodation options pre/post tour)

Day 1

We pick you up from your accommodation and travel to Finch Hatton Gorge for a swim under a cascading waterfall before continuing on and up to the beautiful Eungella National Park, one of Queensland’s most ecologically diverse parks with 860 plant species and a wonderful variety of wildlife. After a picnic lunch we will bushwalk from Sky Window to Broken River, where visitors have on occasion seen platypus in the wild. Enjoy the scenery then on the drive to Cape Hillsborough, where we will spend the next 2 nights. On arrival settle in to our beachfront cabins and share a fish and chip dinner with other travellers.

Day 2

Today we have the whole day to relax and explore this beautiful area. Awaken to wallabies on the beach and take a 4km leisurely walk around Andrews point. For those interested we will drive a short distance for Devonshire Tea to an old Railway Station, transported to the area by a local family. After lunch spend the afternoon around the pool or continue to explore the beaches, rocky pools and caves. Wedge Island can be accessed at low tide over the causeway.

Day 3

An early breakfast this morning before an hour long drive to beautiful Airlie Beach where we will enjoy a day of ocean rafting, snorkelling and a ‘must do’ visit to amazing Whitehaven Beach (voted best beach in Australia on TripAdvisor) Lunch is on the boat and hold on tight for the trip home. Glimpse the palm trees on Hamilton Island as we return as this is our destination for tomorrow. Wander the Bicentennial Boardwalk once home or collapse by the pool. For the next 2 nights we stay in comfortable cabins at Airlie Beach.

Day 4

We catch the ferry to Hamilton Island this morning after breakfast. The day is your own- relax at Catseye beach, wander the marina with its restaurants and galleries, walk, participate in available water sports or hire a golf buggy for a half day and cruise around. Mid afternoon we head back to our cabins. For our final night we will head into Airlie Township for dinner and drinks

Day 5

We head back to Mackay after breakfast this morning. Arrange your flight home in the afternoon or explore Mackay and fly out the next day.

No Princess Policy

Princess crossed out This tour by it's very nature is not designed for the 5 Star Traveller. It is for the girl who has an 'adventurous spirit' and is looking for a unique and rewarding experience (Once in a Lifetime)! You should be able to adopt a "Go With The Flow" attitude, after-all we are in a foreign country and things don't always go to plan...this will help you chill out and therefore get the best out of your holiday. You will also need to be mobile without assistance - some of the sights require you to be on your feet, navigating steps and uneven surfaces at times. We also have a couple of walks as part of this tour - these walks can be achieved by anyone with a general level of fitness, but again mobility is the key, as with all of our tours.

Thanks to AW (especially Sue, Brad and Sue!) for organising such a fabulous Cape to Cape experience. It was well organised, the food was amazing, the scenery was spectacular and the company was hilarious. What more could you ask for?
