On arrival in Cairns, make your way to our base, the very comfortable Cairns Colonial Club Resort located a short drive from the airport.

Today is an early departure from Cairns, heading north to the beautiful Mossman Gorge for a look around before we head off to the next stop at Daintree Village to hit the Daintree river for an hour on a Croc Spotting river cruise before enjoying some time to explore the quaint village.

Today is an easy introductory 4wd experience on the Bloomfield track to Cape Tribulation. There’s a quick stop to grab a coffee at the iconic Thornton beach, where the rainforest meets the reef.

We will then make our way through the Wujal Wujal community and Cedar Bay National Park to the historic Lions Den Hotel for your first nights camp and a pub dinner.

Accommodation: Camping

Day 3 sees us head off at a leisurely pace starting with a short scenic drive to Cooktown.

We will have time to take a walk to the lighthouse for a picturesque view of the rocky outcrops and pay a visit to the James Cook Museum, where the story of Cook’s landing is told from the Aboriginal perspective. It also gives a detailed history of this beautiful, remote and utterly unique part of the country.

After lunch we hit the red dirt road to Isabella Falls en-route to the Old Laura Homestead which was originally built in 1892.

Tonight we camp at Kalpowar Crossing National Park and will arrive by early afternoon in time to throw in a line or kick back around the campfire.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Accommodation: Camping

The road today diversifies as we make our way through the Lakefield National Park, Hann Crossing, Lily Vale Road, Running Creek and into the small town of Coen.

Enjoy a cold beverage at the S-Exchange Hotel before the last hour’s drive up to Archer River Roadhouse where we will spend the night.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Accommodation: Camping

This morning, after crossing the Archer River we head east to the coast to visit Chilli Beach in the Kutini-Payamu (Iron Range) National Park.

Today we'll be testing our 4WD skills on the Frenchmans Track which features stunning scenery as we make way across the Pascoe River and the Wenlock River, before hitting the road up to Bramwell Station for the night.

Tonight we will have live entertainment and dinner at the station

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Accommodation: Camping

Day six sees us begin our journey on the Old Telegraph Track, a VERY challenging track that was used in the 1880s to connect Cairns with Thursday Island. The track has some famous obstacles that we will be tackling today.

Palm Creek - This crossing is considered one of the more difficult on the track, but if you manage it without too much trouble all the following will

Gunshot Creek - A major obstacle with it's steep banks that provides a challenge to most vehicles

After Gunshot we will push on to finish with a refreshing swim at the beautiful Eliot Falls camp

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Accommodation: Camping

Today we finish the northern end of the Old Telegraph Track including the notorious Nolan's Brook, the deepest and most formidable water crossing on the track before we catch a ferry over the croc infested Jardine River to end the day at Australia’s most northerly camp site at Punsand Bay.

Dinner is in the restaurant tonight overlooking the golden sand beach and turquoise waters of the Arafura Sea.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Accommodation: Camping

Today we're up early for sunrise at the very Tip of Australia!

Then we head off on a short drive to the south, to explore Somerset before finishing off on the exhilarating 5 Beach’s Track. On the way back to town we stop in for a visit to the Croc Tent as no Cape York trip is complete without a croc tent souvenir.

Tonight our camp is right near the beach at beautiful Seisia. To support as many local businesses as possible we head over to neighbouring Loyalty Beach Restaurant for dinner tonight and a Certificate presentation

This tour by it's very nature is not designed for the 5 Star Traveller. It is for the girl who has an 'adventurous spirit' and is looking for a unique and rewarding 'experience' (Once in a Lifetime)! You should be able to adopt a "Go With The Flow" attitude.

This is a self-drive tour as part of a group and you may need to "pitch in" at times to help others in the group or the guides.

You will also need to be mobile without assistance - some of the sights we visit en-route require you to be on your feet, navigating steps and uneven surfaces at times.  The walks to the sights can be achieved by anyone with a general level of fitness, but again mobility is the key, as with all of our tours.  If you prefer not to walk to any of these sights, you have the option of hanging back at a cafe or sitting under the shade of a tree while others in the group go.

Cancellation & Refunds

Prior to making payment of your deposit, please ensure you read a copy of the Booking Terms & Conditions of our third party supplier.  These terms are over and above those of Adventurous Women who act as Agent Only for this particular tour.  A copy of the Terms & Conditions will be emailed to you, along with an invoice for a deposit which will confirm your place.

I absolutely loved the walk . I had no expectations as it was my first walk with AW but it was so good in every way. The accommodation was great , the food was excellent ,the guides were wonderful and so caring .

I can't think of any way it could be improved , except maybe having another place to stay in between the swan valley and New Norcia ,as it was a long drive back the last couple of days .
