Join Caron up on the Lamington National Park escarpment to conquer Daves Creek Circuit. The fascinating forests, unusual volcanic features, magnificent views & a perfect picnic spot make it one of the best walks in the area.
Out on the escarpment we will take in the magnificent views of Springbrook, Mt Hobwee, Mt Wagaman, Numinbah Valley and views out in the distant to Hinze Dam with glimpses of the Gold Coast glitter strip. There are some creek crossings, waterfalls and the famous Surprise Rock. We will make a point of stopping at Picnic Creek where we will have morning tea (provided).
Lamington is part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area, famed for its ongoing geological processes, evolutionary history & diversity, especially of rare, threatened & endemic species. The Lamington Spiny Crayfish is one such species. These blue freshwater crayfish can be found in many of the creeks & are a delight to encounter.
This is a relatively easy walk gaining its Grade 4 rating due to the duration of time (4-5 hours) on the trail. A good level of fitness is ideal however if you are venturing out to slightly longer walks then this one is for you.
Please note: There are toilet facilities at the trailhead.
