Our Christmas Tree Creek Walk is a 'meander', meaning that we take our time.... it's not without it's challenges however it's designed for those who like walking at a more relaxed pace so we've allowed more time.
Situated in the Darling Ranges, John Forrest is the oldest National Park in Western Australia and passes through varied vegetation types, including heathlands, open wandoo woodlands and mixed jarrah, marri-wandoo forest.
The Christmas Tree Creek Walk Trail is classified at a moderate walk and while it may be a shorter version of the Eagle View Walk Trail, it does not lack in views and challenging climbs. On the 10.5 kilometre loop, you will follow alongside creeks, walk amongst wildflowers and finish with a glimpse of the Hovea Falls, as you near the end of the trail. Also with National Park being a popular spot for kangaroos, be sure to keep an eye out on this particular trail.
A good level of general fitness is required even though we are walking at a more relaxed pace, but expect some steep inclines to traverse with loose and slippery surfaces. (Poles or a walking stick will aid and shoes with good grip)
Meet with our Adventurous Women Guide at 9.00 am - John Forrest National Park, out the front of the Rangers Office, which is adjacent to the car park.
We will commence the walk at no later than 9.15am and finish around 3pm (approx) so please be punctual for the commencement of the walk and ensure that you don't need to rush off at 3pm, should the walk run over time for any reason.
Distance: 10.5km Loop Trail
Terrain/ Grade 3 - Suitable for most ages and fitness levels. Some bush walking experience recommended. Tracks may have short steep hill sections a rough surface and many steps.

Thank you Sue & Lyn for a wonderful first time experience. Everyone was kind and welcoming. I will be returning :)
What a lovely weekend. I was only able to complete two days of the walk due to a knee injury, but the two days I walked the scenery was beautiful. Lovely soft leafy ground underfoot. A really pretty area of WA. As usual our AW guides were absolutely wonderful. And the food was fantastic (Brads Jam drop biscuits were perfect). The accomodation was very nice and perfectly situated so that I still had close access to Pemberton town on the days I could not walk.
As always AW did not disappoint! Fabulous walks , Lyn is a great guide, and we made good time through the (undulating !)Karri forrest. Sue gave us great food ( despite having no oven !!😂😂)
The best way to unwind as usual, Thankyou again
Lynne and Sue 👍
A great couple of days on the Kattamorda Heritage Trail. Found the first day trek relatively easy despite the distance and the second day was surprisingly interrupted with lunch at the Mundaring Weir Hotel. Our guide, Imogen, was great very inclusive and nothing was any trouble, thank you Imogen for a great weekend.
Great walk, up and down green hills, across creeks, through paddocks, starting and ending in a beautiful little town.
An great weekend in the Darling Ranges!
This was a fabulous city walk. I grew up in Perth all my life and I discovered places and things on this walk that I never knew existed. Jazzy is just amazing, full of knowledge and patience and just a fabulous host. Thank you for an amazing day. And I loved Brads biscuits, which are always a highlight for me.
