The Glass House Mountains area was a special meeting place where many Aboriginal people gathered for ceremonies and trading. It is considered spiritually significant with many ceremonial sites still present and protected today.
Come and hike the twin peaks of Mt Coochin in the Glasshouse Mountains National Park. At only 235 m, the west peak is relatively easy, while the second requires a bit of scrambling. The saddle between the two peaks is easy to negotiate while both peaks provide arguably the best views of the Glass House Mountains and are well worth doing.
This is not a long hike at a little over 3.5kms, however the challenge is in the climb. We will be taking our time and enjoying the views from both peaks. This will be a circuit taking us down the east peak to a fire trail that will bring us back around to the start.
If time permits we can head 5 minutes down the road into Beerwah for a coffee and cake at Mrs Browns Espresso Bar at your own expense.
Please note there are no toilet facilities at the trail head.
