Itinerary

Welcome to Cairns!

This morning our driver and Adventurous Women Guide will pick you up from your accommodation in Cairns, or at our designated meeting point in the CBD. We then travel from Cairns to Atherton, arriving by mid afternoon (1.5 hour drive).

Check into our accommodation and enjoy an afternoon of leisure, with the option of joining in a Pilates session this afternoon on the deck.

Our first dinner together will be a relaxed meal prepared by our guide at the accommodation.

Meals: Dinner

Accommodation: B&B or Similar Atherton

Rise and shine, our morning Pilates class will set us up for the day! Our instructor will ensure that we are all working to our own pace - we have a fabulous day ahead and we all want to feel great!

After our session, we have breakfast before boarding the bus for our full day Waterfall Circuit Tour. We firstly stop in at Heberton, with the opportunity to visit the Historic Village (own cost). We continue to the stunning Millaa Millaa Waterfall with the opportunity to swim in falls. Once we have finished here, we will drive the short distance to Mungalli Creek Dairy Café for Devonshire tea in beautiful garden surrounds. From here we visit Zillie and Ellinjaa Falls.

A very relaxing and rejuvenating day, returning back to the sanctuary of our peaceful accommodation.

Dinner tonight will again be at our accommodation; the Tablelands has a rich agricultural history so as much as possible, we will be using local produce for our meals.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Accommodation: B&B or Similar Atherton

Enjoy a continental breakfast on the deck if weather permits..... a gorgeous way to start our day!

We'll then enjoy a stretching session, whereby our Pilates instructor will take us through a series of stretches designed to loosen us up for our day of activity ahead. This session is more about stretching than it is about Pilates.

We then board our bus and drive to the trek start. We will be walking along old logging roads, through beautiful forests with a variety of flora. En-route we will take a relaxed pace, stopping to enjoy our packed lunch. Today is lengthy, however the terrain is not difficult and we will enjoy being in nature without the distractions of day to day life. At the conclusion of our trek, the bus will collect us to return to our accommodation.

Another optional short stretching session is available for those who would enjoy stretching out after our walk today.

Tonight we're dining out and will be taken by bus to the Yungaburra Hotel for dinner. The Yungaburra Hotel, also known as the Lake Eacham Hotel, was built in 1910 and is the pride of the Atherton Tablelands. It features Federation architecture and displays of historic photographs of the area’s early saw milling days.

After dinner, with our bellies full ......we are transferred back to our accommodation for a well earned rest.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Accommodation: B&B or Similar Atherton

After exerting ourselves yesterday, it will be lovely to enjoy another gentle Pilates class. Our instructor will ensure that we are all working to our own pace as we stretch out those muscles and warm up for the day ahead.

Today is all about the tastebuds as we tour the outback - We will travel by bus to an idyllic country farm, where we will enjoy a scrumptious breakfast in a lovely gazebo. From here we will visit a grower and maker of condiments using locally grown Davidson plum, lemon aspen and others, which we can taste and wash down with a native fruit cocktail.

Three more food stops precede a visit to Mount Uncle Distillery, where we have the opportunity to sample some of their award winning liqueurs and spirits. And after that..coffee anyone??

We return to our accommodation at around 3pm where we have the afternoon as leisure. Pilates will be available on request, otherwise the afternoon can just be spent reading, relaxing or sleeping off the food of the day!

We will enjoy a very light dinner tonight at our accommodation, as today has already been heavily food oriented! We will enjoy picking at a grazing platter of local produce.

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Accommodation: B&B or Similar Atherton

Wake up with an optional morning stretch to set us up for our last trekking day, working off what we ate yesterday!

Another beautiful refreshing breakfast, sampling more of the rich produce available on the Tablelands, before checking out of our accommodation

We load up the bus and are transferred to the beginning of our trek.

Though shorter than our previous trek, some sections of this track mean a steeper climb, so it will certainly get our hearts started! We trek through a variety of terrain, with a short exposed section undertaken early in the day before the heat. Our climb along this well maintained track is rewarded with beautiful views of the Atherton Tablelands and, hopefully, some good bird sightings.

By now we will have worked up some hunger, so what better to do than enjoy a lovely lunch in Atherton, before setting home. After lunch we board the bus for the final time and it's onto Cairns where we say our goodbyes after a fabulous five days of adventure!
