Take a guided tour through one of WA's oldest colonial buildings, enjoy afternoon tea at Millers Pool an area steeped in Indigenous history, then finish of with a 2 hour twilight paddle on the Swan River.

Meet with your Adventurous Women Host at 3pm in the grounds of The Old Mill (Car parking available at the Millers Pool Carpark on Mill Point Road).  After introductions, the group will be taken on a guided tour through the historic Old Mill, an iconic building that many of you may have seen when driving on the freeway, looking down from Kings Park, from the water or passing by it in South Perth.

After the tour, take a stroll to nearby Millers Pool to explore the area and enjoy a yummy afternoon tea overlooking the water.  Then it's time to wander further down the South Perth foreshore to meet with our Kayaking Guide, Leonie from Water Wanderers to take part in a 2 hour twilight paddling tour on the Swan River.  All the basic paddling techniques are taught before setting off, the double kayaks used are completely stable ensuring a wobble-free experience.  Suitable for beginner paddlers through to advanced.

Come join us for a mid afternoon to early evening social outing with like-minded women!

Millers Pool on South Perth Foreshore has a rich Indigenous history. The area and its surrounds were part of an important camping and fishing area for the Noongar Bibbulmun people. In the 1900s, it was a popular boating, crabbing, prawning and picnic spot. Today Millers Pool is a picturesque place to pause, rest, reflect and take in sweeping views of the Swan River, Kings Park and the Perth city skyline.  Printed artworks of the native samphire plant, a shade screen design by Noongar artist Kylie Graham as well as Reflections, a solar-powered kinetic sculpture reflecting the sky and plantings below it are incorporated into the landscape design of the area.

The Old Mill in South Perth is one of Perth’s best known landmarks and one of Western Australia’s oldest colonial buildings. Built in 1835 and operating until 1859, the mill produced 680kg of flour per day at its peak. Since ceasing production, the mill has been used as a hotel, a residence, a wine saloon and a poultry farm.
