Lovely outing on the river. Very peaceful and a different perspective from the river.
Explore a stunning slice of nature on Perth’s doorstep. This scenic loop through Walyunga National Park offers sweeping valley views and a rewarding climb to Mt Mambup before finishing at the beautiful Bells Rapids.
This beautiful loop hike takes you from the Swan River into the heart of Walyunga National Park, following the Pilgrim's Track before the real adventure begins: a steady climb that will test your stamina and reward you handsomely for it.
At the top, the ridge opens up to sweeping panoramas across the Avon Valley and the Perth coastal plain, with the summit of Mt Mambup marking the high point of the day. From there, we descend gradually into the valley, looping back through the picturesque Bells Rapids where, with a bit of luck, the falls will be flowing.
Throughout the hike, enjoy reasonable forest cover, seasonal wildflowers, native birdlife and the occasional kangaroo. Afterwards there is the option to join your AW Tour Leader for a coffee, bite to eat and a chat at a nearby cafe.
This is a genuinely satisfying day out - a perfect blend of natural beauty and physical challenge, all within easy reach of the city and alongside a fun group of like-minded women.
This is a Grade 3 hike, which is suitable for most fitness levels. The track does feature some steep, rocky sections and loose gravel so sturdy hiking shoes or boots are recommended. Elevation gain is around 450 metres.
