"Great day, learning new skills of kayaking, distance wasn't too far so a great introduction if you've never done this type of activity before"
Spend the day exploring the pristine waters of Shoalwater Islands Marine Park on this six-hour kayaking adventure. Spot incredible wildlife, enjoy time on Penguin Island and share the experience with a wonderful group of like-minded women.
Join a group of like-minded women for a memorable day exploring the calm turquoise waters and abundant wildlife of Shoalwater Islands Marine Park.
Led by your Adventurous Women Tour Leader and an experienced kayaking guide, you'll paddle stable double sea kayaks through this protected marine sanctuary. Keep an eye out for playful Australian sea lions, bottlenose dolphins, pelicans and the many seabirds that thrive here. November is a particularly rewarding time to visit, with the islands alive following the recent penguin and sea lion breeding season.
Landing on Penguin Island, you'll enjoy a guided walk to learn about its unique wildlife, conservation and history before relaxing over a picnic brunch by the beach. Then, paddle back across the sheltered waters to Shoalwater, soaking up the stunning coastal scenery one last time.
Whether you're an experienced paddler or trying sea kayaking for the first time, the expert guidance, supportive atmosphere and shared experience make this a wonderful way to discover one of Western Australia's most beautiful coastal landscapes.
Note: This event begins and ends in Shoalwater, approximately 50 km from central Perth. Please allow plenty of time for the drive, as we won’t be able to delay the group for late arrivals.
Suitable for beginners and experienced paddlers alike. You'll spend several hours kayaking at a relaxed pace and assist with unloading and launching the kayaks, so a moderate level of fitness and some upper body strength are recommended. You should also be comfortable on open water, as weather conditions may occasionally require paddling further from shore.
