Loved every minute of the trip! Organisation was great, tour leader (Jazzy) was fabulous, and the other women on the walk were just lovely.
Swap the hustle of daily life for the natural beauty of the Blue Mountains on this five-day pack-free adventure. This trip is all about camaraderie and rejuvenation in the outdoors, blending the magic of the two-day Grand Clifftop Walk and Katoomba Falls night walk with thoughtful moments like stargazing at Wentworth Falls and Indigenous storytelling, all supported by your experienced AW Tour Leader.
The trails offer enough challenge to feel like a real adventure while remaining entirely achievable for most active women. We’ve made sure to balance your time on the tracks with plenty of treats, from Devonshire tea at Everglades House to a relaxing lunch at Sorensen’s Glasshouse & Gardens. Bring a friend or join us solo, either way, you’ll find a supportive community ready to share the journey.
Note: This trip pairs with our Sydney Harbour Pack-Free Hiking trip starting on 04 April from Sydney.
This trip includes Grade 3 hikes, up to 12 km per day, suitable for those with moderate fitness levels. Tracks include short steep sections over uneven terrain, and there are sections of steps and stairs along the way - these are a mix of flat sandstone and steeper manmade staircases. While this is broken up into sections of around 100-500 stairs, we recommend including hill or stair training in your preparation to keep your legs happy.
Our journey begins with a pick-up from Sydney Airport at noon. We’ll drive directly to Everglades House in the Blue Mountains, where we will enjoy Devonshire tea and a self-guided walk around the gardens.
From there, we’ll continue to our hotel and check in to our base for the next four nights.
After settling in, we’ll head out for a group dinner before heading out for the Katoomba Falls Night-Lit Walk. This gentle 1.3km trail is a magical way to start the adventure, with the illuminated falls and escarpment creating a stunning evening atmosphere.

The morning begins with an Aboriginal cultural experience, where a local Indigenous guide will lead a welcome to country and cultural talk. This immersive experience provides a meaningful connection to the country we’re walking through.
We’ll then grab a take away lunch and hit the trail for the Grand Canyon Track.
The 6.3 km loop track is one of the most iconic hikes in the Blue Mountains, featuring a lush ever-changing landscape of sandstone cliffs, waterfalls and shaded cullies filled with lush vegetation.
After the hike, we return to the hotel with time to freshen up before dinner.

Today after breakfast, we hit the trails with the first section of the Grand Clifftop Walk, a 19km route split over two days. The first leg covers 11km from Wentworth Falls to Leura, rated Grade 3, with breathtaking clifftop views, forested tracks, and cascading waterfalls. Along the way, we’ll stop for morning tea at Conservation Hut Café (optional at your own expense), followed by a packed lunch with incredible scenery as our backdrop.
We’ll return for a chance to freshen up before having dinner. Afterwards, we go stargazing at Wentworth Falls, enjoying a hot chocolate or tea under the vast evening sky.

The second half of the Grand Clifftop Walk takes us 8km from Gordon Falls to Scenic World in Katoomba, with more dramatic viewpoints and winding bush tracks. We’ll take a break along the way to enjoy our packed lunch. Our hike continues on this scenic trail, with expansive views and beautiful pockets of forest, before reaching the end of our hiking journey.
The afternoon is free to relax or explore before we head out for a farewell dinner.

Every effort will be made to follow the itinerary as planned, but please remember this is adventure travel and conditions can change unexpectedly. Weather, road conditions, vehicle issues, or the health of fellow travelers may require adjustments.
We’ll do our best to keep things on track, but a flexible and easy-going attitude is essential for the best experience.
Occasionally, certain experiences or activities may need to be modified or skipped due to circumstances beyond our control. In such cases, refunds will not be provided for any missed components of the itinerary.

So well organised by the team nothing was a problem so helpful lots of fun with the other Adventurous Women.
I loved the great group of women and the variety of activities. We hiked, cooked, kayaked, met elephants, laughed, swam and ate. Marie’s knowledge of her homeland made this a memorable experience.
Loved the week hiking with Anna & an inspiring group of women. Really well organised, fun, delicious food, amazing scenery. Highly recommend.
A stunning part of the world to hike with a special group of awesome women, led by our wonderful leader Lyn.

The magic of our trips comes from travellers bringing a supportive mindset, a go-with-the-flow attitude, and a genuine spirit of adventure.
We explore beautiful, often remote places where life moves at a different pace. Flexibility, a little humour and positivity go a long way in creating an atmosphere where everyone feels free to be themselves and make the adventure far more rewarding.

The following is not included in the cost of the tour:
If you’re travelling solo not to worry, you’re in good company! Many of our travellers join solo and our trips are designed to feel welcoming and supportive from the moment you arrive. It’s a great way to meet like-minded women, and friendships often form quickly along the way.
When on the tour , we will pair you with a room buddy. Or, if you’d prefer your own room at one hotel night, this option is available for an additional supplement. You can select this option at the time of booking.
The tour begins on 11 April at noon at the Sydney Airport. If you are flying in, we recommend a flight arriving by 11.15AM. If you are already in Sydney, please arrive at the airport by noon. ( An exact meeting point will be set in advance of the tour)
The tour ends on 15 April, with a drop off at the airport around 3pm. If you are planning to fly out on that day, please book flights departing 5pm or later.
All AW trips are accompanied by one of our experienced Tour Leaders. Their role is to take the hassle out of your travels and help you get the most out of your experience, while embracing the Adventurous Women way.
A detailed packing list will be provided closer to the tour date. The most important item is a comfortable, well-broken-in pair of walking shoes or boots. You’ll also need a small day pack to carry water, layers and snacks while walking.
Our meals will be prepared each day in house by professional chefs, with a focus on healthy and fresh. Alcohol or drinks with meals are not included except tea/coffee & juice with breakfast.
If you have any dietary requirements or allergies, we’ll do our best to accommodate them. Please provide as much detail as possible in advance so we can advise what level of catering is possible. In some cases, we may recommend bringing additional snacks, and for severe allergies, we’ll discuss any necessary medical precautions prior to the trip.
It’s a multi-day hiking experience where you carry only a light day pack on the trail rather than a full pack with camping gear, cooking supplies and overnight supplies. Your day pack should have space to carry 2 litres of water, a packed lunch and a layer or two of clothes or sun protection, depending on the weather!
Another benefit of pack-free hiking: Instead of sleeping on the trail, you return each evening to comfortable accommodation in Sydney, allowing you to explore a region in depth without regularly packing up and moving.
We will travel by private bus or van for the trip.
A trip is an investment and as with any investment, you should take steps to protect it and plan for contingencies.
Travel insurance on domestic tours with Adventurous Women is not mandatory. It is, however, highly recommended, particularly because most policies allow you to add cover for trip cancellation, disruption and curtailment.
In the event of illness or injury, your private health insurance or Medicare will generally cover your medical treatment if you need to visit the hospital.
What your private health insurance may not cover is ambulance costs, which can be significant. Some states offer affordable ambulance membership schemes. Unless you are a Queensland resident (who receives free ambulance cover Australia-wide), you might wish to look at options available to you.
If you are looking for a recommendation, we suggest Go Insurance. Through a partnership with this insurer AW guests receive a 10% discount off the cost of insurance using this link (discount will be applied at checkout).
