Sue Hile (Sue H) is the mover & shaker behind Adventurous Women®. Apart from overseeing all operational activity & organising tours, she may well be your Tour Escort on either a 'relaxing' .....or 'adventurous' trip.

You will also see her at many of the AW activities or social occasions....be warned, she's very laid back and never takes herself too seriously!!!

Brad (aka Mr AW)

Brad is a major part of the AW Team, with over 20 years experience in the Multimedia Industry, he develops and maintains the systems behind the scenes and provides ongoing technical, marketing, design & website support. Yvonne

Yvonne

Admin / Girl Friday /Tour Host

I love pottering around in my garden and sewing, but my real passion is being organised, so being a part of the AW team is the icing on the cake for me. I love taking care of the finer details and making sure all arrangements are in place, ensuring that our lovely AW guests can relax and enjoy their experience.

I'm a Granny of three years and loving that role, and hoping as the girls get older they may become Adventurous Women too.

My goal is to meet all of you, eventually ;-)

Sue O

Sue O

Right Hand Woman / Tour Leader

Sue O...(often confused with Sue H) has also been an integral part of AW since it's inception and therefore has a wealth of knowledge which she is happy to share with other members. Sue O can also be found escorting some of our more 'extreme' and/or 'adventurous' tours and activities....she's often found hanging around on top of mountains!!!

Jazzy

Jazzy

Tour Leader

Kokoda Track Guru Jazzy has always preferred hiking boots to high heels and loves the thrill of a challenge. She's trekked the globe - conquering Kokoda, Mt Kilimanjaro, Mt Kinabalu, Kalar Patar, Everest Base Camp & the Sandakan Death March. However, every year she heads back to her favourite place of all, The Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea for her annual adrenalin fix - If Kokoda is on your bucket list, Jazzy can show you the way!

Chris

Chris

QLD Group Leader / Tour Leader

I've been bush walking and involved in outdoor activities with friends since I was a teenager and I still haven't lost my love of the outdoors, looking for new adventures and challenging the boundaries.

I joined Adventurous Women® in 2018 as a host so I could share my passion with other like minded women and enjoy seeing them experience the magic of the outdoors and the ever changing scenery.

I'm still in awe of sunrises and sunsets and love birds and dragonflies, amongst other things.

Caron

Caron

QLD Group Leader / Tour Leader

I'd been a solo explorer for many years, I really enjoyed being alone in nature, on the trails, on the water, in the mountains, it was my therapy, the one place I felt at peace, never having to apologise for being deaf. My desire to keep finding new places to explore as my boys grew up & left home, I made the decision to make a change. A Really Big Change!

So, in the year I turned 50 - I joined the world of the hearing! I travelled far and wide seeking adventure with like minded women that had me clinging to the clifftop trails of the Cinque Terre, standing on the top of Australia, marvelling at the abundant wildlife on Kangaroo Island, amazed at the beauty of the PNG jungle, humbled by the delicate Sherpas who guided me safely into Base Camp.

I discovered my voice. I discovered my place. I discovered my tribe.

I'm excited about this new chapter with Adventurous Women® and I look forward to hearing all your stories.

QLD Group Admin & Leader / Tour Leader

I've always loved travelling with my family and learning about other cultures. Recently I began adding a few hikes to my travels until now my travels have become centred around the hikes! I must admit I do prefer a day-pack glamp versus a full pack these days though smiley

I have a long list of places still to explore and my list just keeps increasing. I can't wait to start sharing travel ideas and adventures with the adventurous women of Queensland.

Leonie

Leonie

Tour Leader

Leonie is a power house in South Australia, organising events in the local area. She is an avid runner and hiker, and has participated in marathons and endurance events, but is just as happy walking with a group and sharing her knowledge or helping those in need. She is adventurous, bubbly and outgoing and loves cooking.

If you're in SA look for her trekking the Adelaide hills or enjoying a nice drop of Barossa wine

Kathy

Kathy

NSW Group Leader / Tour Leader

"Slow & steady" is my motto, after multiple knee operations (on the one knee), I thought I would have to hang up the walking boots & sticks, but with a lot of training & determination I've managed to tackle some great walks including the Inca trail 2019, Mt Kenya 2018, Sandakan & MT Kinabalu 2016

I am passionate about our environment and love being in the bush or scuba diving.

NSW Group Leader / Tour Leader

Living in the Blue Mountains I spend a lot of time hiking this amazing area but have also walked the overland track in Tassie, The Routeburn track in NZ and sections of the Bibbulman in WA.

Apart from hiking I also enjoy trail running, yoga and all round adventuring, and have a passion for Nepal, visiting regularly for a charity and acting as the group leader for a charity trek.

Lyn

Tour Leader

My happy place is anywhere outdoors; hiking, kayaking, camping, and also getting out into the wilds by 4WD or motorcycle. I love to hunt down unique, challenging and fun ways of experiencing the world and believe women of any age or stage of life should have opportunities to live the life they desire.
I have also recently made the transition from traveller to travel writer, and thoroughly enjoy sharing travel tales, preferably around a campfire!

Heather

Heather

SA Group Leader / Tour Leader

Growing up in SA's mid north area I've had a natural connection to the outdoors all my life and now with older children and a little more time for oneself I've realised how important getting out in nature is for me, and have re-ignited my enjoyment and connection through bush walking (but happy to try other activities!)

I'm currently working towards completing South Australia's Heysen Trail (1200km) and on track to cross the final stile in Parachilna in 2022! I'm thrilled to represent Adventurous Women in SA and to continue exploring and adventuring!

Claire

Claire

Tour Leader

Claire grew up in the northern suburbs of Perth but has lived and worked in Midland for the past four years where she is a local journalist covering the Swan Valley and Perth Hills region.

When she's not writing for the paper, you can find her on the trails in the Hills and further afar enjoying WA's pristine bushland and scenic sites. Hiking around WA has become an addiction as there is always something new to discover, native animals to see and ever changing wildflowers to admire.
