This trip is suitable for social paddlers with a general level of fitness as we will be kayaking on calm water over comfortable distances
Join us on this amazing 2 day / 1 night all-inclusive kayak tour of the Ramsar listed Coorong and Murray Mouth region accompanied by a local guide and Adventurous Women host.
The Coorong is a region that really embodies all of nature’s brilliance and boasts breathtaking scenery, remarkable bird life and wildlife. This is truly one of the most special places you can visit exploring the Coorong in our Kayaks and camping overnight on the Coorong itself.
We will be meeting at the Mundoo boat ramp, where parking is available for your vehicle, to organise the kayaks and start our adventure heading to Barker's Knoll for lunch and on to our campsite.
After we enjoy some afternoon tea and settle in, we will be led on a bush tucker walk through the nearby dunes to learn about and collect some ingredients for dinner before returning to the camp for some free time to explore and watch the sunset.
After dinner enjoy some star gazing, spot lighting or if you're keen, a spot of beach fishing (yes you're welcome to bring your gear along) and a supper before we turn in.
The following morning we will enjoy a relaxed start before making our way to the Murray River Mouth hearing about the area’s uniqueness and current state as we travel, arriving in time for a late lunch and a walk to the Murray Mouth lookout. After lunch we will paddle to the Murray Mouth launch area and carpark where the tour wraps up and we then walk a short distance back to Sugars Beach Carpark to our vehicles.
Please note that there will not be shower facilities and some of your toilet stops may be using a spade in the bush.

The Coorong and Lakes Alexandrina and Albert wetland is one of Australia's most important wetland areas. Australia designated the site, covering approximately 140,500 ha in South Australia, as a Wetland of International Importance under the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands in 1985. Parts of the Coorong also form the Coorong National Park and Game Reserve. Due to it's diversity of ecological features, the site provides a wide range of habitats. Waders and waterfowl are the predominant species, including the Curlew Sandpiper, Banded Stilt, Red-capped Plover, Masked Lapwing, Red kneed Dotterel, Black Swan, Cape Barren Goose, Musk Duck, Straw-necked Ibis, Royal Spoonbill, Rufus Night Heron and Australian Pelican. The site has a unique mosaic of 23 wetland types and provides habitat for nationally threatened species such as the Orange Bellied Parrot, Southern Mount Lofty Ranges Emu Wren and the Murray Cod. It also contains the threatened Gahnia sedgeland ecosystem and part of the endangered Swamps of the Fleurieu Peninsula.

After we organise the kayaks we will hit the water and head to Barker's Knoll for a quick lunch before proceeding on to Godfrey's Landing camp site for afternoon tea followed by a bush tucker walk over the dunes.
We will arrive at our camp site around 5pm to set up camp followed by free time to explore until dinner is served and we can watch the sunset
After dinner enjoy some star gazing, spot lighting or if you're very keen a spot of beach fishing
Around 10pm supper is served and we wind down for the night

We like to have a relaxed start so we only need to be up and ready for breaky by 8am
After breakfast we will break camp and explore Barrage and Boundary Creeks before heading to Godfrey's again for morning tea then making our way to the Murray River mouth, arriving in time for a late lunch.
After lunch we will enjoy the views from the Murray mount lookout and enjoy one last short paddle before the tour wraps up

This tour by it's very nature is not designed for the 5 Star Traveller. It is for the girl who has an 'adventurous spirit' and is looking for a unique and rewarding 'experience' !
You should be able to adopt a "Go With The Flow" attitude (pun intended 
) ...this will help you chill out and therefore get the best out of your holiday.

Notice of cancellation must be in writing, with an email as an acceptable form of communication, directly to Adventurous Women with the following conditions:
No refund is available after departure of a tour has commenced.
