Camping
The majority of our tour is spent camping, as most of the areas we visit are remote and accommodation is limited. We also believe this is an awesome way to experience the true spirit of the Kimberley. We camp almost every night in designated campgrounds, staying between one and two nights at each location and we supply all the camping gear your require, including 190cm high tents - 1 per person (yep you can stand and move around freely), stretcher bed, a mattress to sleep on and a comfy armchair.
There are toilets and showers available at each of the campsites, with the exception of no showers in Purnululu NP (the Bungle Bungles) where we set up a pretty cool private outback showering station. Bring your own pillow and sleeping bag or hire a sleeping bag from us for $35 (please let us know when booking if you would like this option). We have a limited amount of sleeping bags for hire, so please let us know early.
Hotel Accommodation - Broome
As part of this package, we include your last evening's accommodation in Broome at The Mecure (or similar standard) in twin share rooms. At the time of booking your tour with us if you would prefer your own room here, please let us know early so that we can check availability and provide you with the single supplement pricing.
Self Contained En-suite Cabins - Kununurra
As part of this package, we provide accommodation in Kununurra at the Ivanhoe Caravan Park in Twin Share Cabins. There is no option for single supplement here as cabins are limited, so we ask for your understanding. You will be allocated a cabin with another lady from the group unless you are travelling with a friend or family and wish to share with them on this evening. Please let us know at the time of booking on this tour.
- Pre-departure information, including a gear list will be sent to you well in advance of departure
This tour by it's very nature is not designed for the 5 Star Traveller. It is for the girl who has an 'adventurous spirit' and is looking for a unique and rewarding 'experience' (Once in a Lifetime)! You should be able to adopt a "Go With The Flow" attitude, after-all we're camping in the rugged outback and with a positive approach, you're sure to get the best out of your holiday.
You will also need to be mobile without assistance - many of the sites we visit require you to be on your feet, walking and navigating rocky paths & uneven surfaces at times. However as it's your holiday, you may choose not to walk on any given day and simply chill out under a Boab, swim in a nearby natural pool or read a book - there are options.
