MAKE A BOOKING

Ladies your invited to join us for another Book Club.

If you haven't attended before please come along as it's a fun and supportive group of ladies who enjoy catching up socially and a meal is enjoyed on the night.

We choose to meet up every 2 months as this gives everyone time to source the book and read it.

This year it was suggested that 2 books get chosen each meeting, so this gives everyone a choice. On the night we discuss a book or books that the group have read and then each person is given an opportunity to express their opinions, likes and dislikes.

In saying that if you haven't read the book, then it’s still totally ok to come along. Please don’t feel any pressure, the group is all about having fun!

Financial Adventurous Women ® ™ are free to attend and for Non Financial /Trial Members, please bring a gold coin donation.

Looking forward to having your company, any questions please email Leonie on leonie@adventurouswomen.com.au

The 2 books put forward to read this time are:

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie, by Annie Barrows and Mary Ann Shaffer

Juliet Ashton receives a letter from Dawsey Adams of Guernsey - a total stranger living halfway across the Channel, who has come across her name written in a second hand book. She enters into a correspondence with him, and in time with all the members of the extraordinary Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. Through their letters, the society tells Juliet about life on the island, their love of books and the long shadow cast by their time living under German occupation. Drawn into their irresistible world, Juliet sets sail for the island, changing her life forever.

Wreckage by Emily Bleeker

Lillian Linden is a liar. On the surface, she looks like a brave survivor of a plane crash. But she's been lying to her family, her friends, and the whole world since rescue helicopters scooped her and her fellow survivor, Dave Hall, off a deserted island in the South Pacific. Missing for almost two years, the castaways are thrust into the spotlight after their rescue, becoming media darlings overnight. But they can't tell the real story - so they lie.The public is fascinated by the castaways' saga, but Lillian and Dave must return to their lives and their spouses. Genevieve Randall - a hard-nosed journalist and host of a news program - isn't buying it. She suspects Lillian's and Dave's explanations about the other crash survivors aren't true. And now, Genevieve's determined to get the real story, no matter how many lives it destroys. In this intriguing tale of survival, secrets, and redemption, two everyday people thrown together by tragedy must finally face the truth…even if it tears them apart.
