Pinnacles, Stockyard Gully Caves, Wildflowers & Walking, what a great combo for an Adventurous Women ® ™ Weekend Getaway!
August is the best time for Wildflowers in this region of Western Australia so we're heading up there!! Combine wildflower spotting with a walk through one of WA's best kept secret's - The Stockyard Gully Caves, exploring all the best spots in the Pinnacles Desert, Mt Leusuer National Park & Summit AND comfy accommodation, good food and great company .... what more could an Adventurous Woman want out of an action packed weekend!
Saturday 24th August, 2019
7.30am - Pick up in the Perth CBD and head out north towards Indian Ocean Drive.
10.00am - We stop in at The Pinnacles, Nambung National Park, grab a cuppa at the Kiosk, toilet stop, then take the time to enjoy exploring the majestic Pinnacles
11.30 pm - Depart Pinnacles for Jurien Bay
12.30pm - Arriving in Jurien Bay, we’ll find a shady spot to sit and enjoy our picnic lunch. Afterwards we head off to Lesueur National Park, a biodiversity hotspot ranking as one of the most important reserves for flora conservation in WA.
2.00pm - Once at Mt Lesueur National Park, it’s time to stretch our legs! We have a lovely scenic bush walk lined up for you today, where you’ll enjoy fabulous displays of wildflowers, a wide variety of birdlife and stunning vista’s. We envisage our walk will take approximately 3 hours in total, including the summit of Mt Lesueur. This time frame should allow time to stop, enjoy the wildflowers and take photos along the way.
For those who do not wish to summit Mt Lesueur, there are plenty of options for you to remain on the lower trail and enjoy wildflower spotting!
5.00pm - Time to head back to Jurien Bay, check into our accommodation and relax! Sundowner from 6.00pm onwards, following on with a yummy dinner!
Sunday 25th August, 2019
7.00am - If you’re up early and wish to take a stroll, head down to the beach as there’s a well formed path along the coast, or flick off your footwear & feel the sand between your toes as you wander on the beach itself.
9.00am - After breakfast & check out, our friends at Jurien Bay Adventures Tours pick us up in their rig and we head off to one of WA's best kept secrets, the Stockyard Gully Caves ....only accessible by 4WD! The main cave has a sandy bottom and is some 300 metres in length. We'll take an easy stroll into the cave, then navigate our way over a couple of boulders at the other end and walk back along the top of the ridge, while learning about the cave's history and spotting wildflowers along the way.
After our adventure here and before returning to Jurien Bay, we'll find a nice little spot to enjoy our lunch.
2.00pm - We depart Jurien Bay and head back to Perth, stopping en-route to enjoy a break and a cuppa on the banks of the lower Moore River, before finishing off our adventure.
