MAKE A BOOKING

Located within the picturesque Perth Hills, the Railway Reserves Heritage Trail retraces 59km of the old Eastern Railway that formerly linked Fremantle to York in the 1880s.

The Trail begins its journey at Bellevue and ends at Wooroloo, taking in the individual history and character of many charming settlements that evolved alongside the railway line during it's construction.

The section of the Railway Reserves Heritage Trail we're hiking today, takes us from 'Pub to Pub' and back again, which is between 14 - 16km approx return, depending upon village visits/diversions chosen to admire. We start the hike at the Mt Helena Tavern, head through Stoneville and then continue onto Parkerville before returning along the same route. There are plenty of points of interest during today's hike as we appreciate the historical and cultural significance of these, taking in the romance of the rail era.

At the end of today's hike, there's an option to pop into the Mt Helena pub with your Guide & fellow hikers to enjoy a cold drink.

Type of Track/Terrain -  Mostly wide & relatively flat, although some of the track could be partially covered with leaves or gumnuts.  Slight down hill gradient from Mt Helena to Parkerville, slight up hill gradient on return.

Distance Covered - 14.2km (or if diversions to seek out points of interest off the trail up to approximately 16km - optional).

Fitness Level -  As this walk is over 10km in distance, a good general level of fitness is required.  Hiking experience is recommended.
