Experience John Forrest National Park's hiking trails, waterfalls, pools, tunnels & city views in a whole different light .... Twilight!
We meet at Pechey Road Carpark and make our way into the national park, heading north towards Rocky Pool. There's plenty of time to explore the surrounds at Rocky Pool before moving off to ascend the hills for about 200 metres until we reach Eagle View Lookout. Once at the lookout, we'll take a well earned break and enjoy soaking in the views of the city before commencing the hike towards the falls.
Arriving at the falls, we find a nice place to sit and relax as the sun gets closer to setting. By now we've worked up an appetite so the timing is perfect to enjoy our packed picnic dinner while soaking up the serenity. Afterwards it's off towards the Swan Tunnel, reaching there just before dark. With headlamps on or phone torches at the ready, we'll head through the tunnel before returning to the nearby carpark to finish out the evening.
The walk is approximately 6km in length, classified as moderate due to the first part being a bit rocky and uneven going down and then up again. Then the rest of the walk is slightly downhill and relatively flat.
