Take A Walk on The Wildside.

Adventurous Women are delighted to offer you a personally styled African Safari experience like no other!

Famous for its large elephant herds, the Okavango Delta and the Kalahari Desert will not disappoint for the quantity and quality of animals and birds you are likely to see on your stay within this vast area. Large herds of cape buffalo are common, as are Burchell's zebra and family groups of giraffes, baboons, warthog, vervet monkeys, jackal, lions, honey badgers, banded mongoose, and hopefully cheetah on the open floodplains and leopard are often spotted, especially by those fortunate to be camping within the Khwai/Moremi area, such as our Adventurous Women group.

The list is endless, wild dog, hyena, hippos, 19 species of antelope, from the 700kg Eland to 7kg Sharpes grysbok ....your days and nights are sure to provide wildlife encounters that will enthral. The bird life is also spectacular with the ever present lilac breasted roller adding constant splashes of colour to just about every scene and with such varied habitats from grasslands to forest and scrub areas there are over 400 recorded species spotted. Watching the majestic fish eagle swooping down into a waterhole or river to collect a fish is a never to be forgotten moment on any safari.

The flow and uniqueness of this itinerary really typifies the Adventurous Women style of travel ......Every part of this journey is an ADVENTURE and we look forward to sharing it with you!

This morning after breakfast our group is transferred from the Safari club to JNB International airport for our short flight to Maun in Botswana. An established instution in Maun providing 3 star ensuite rooms, but most importantly a warm African feel and friendly staff. Before dinner this evening, an informal briefing will be conducted by our tour guide to discuss the safari. Tomorrow, it's time to head into the wilds.

This morning, we will be transferred by 4wd safari vehicles to our base camp in the Moremi/Khwai area. Our Safari starts in earnest this morning. The quantity and quality of wildlife spotted on the drive to camp, will determine the length of our journey today. A stop is made in Maun town so you can purchase any last-minute personal items.

On our 3 days comfortable camping in Khwai, a liberal amount of alcohol, wine, spirits and soft drinks and mixers are served with meals. Purchase of your own special preferred alcoholic beverage is always a great idea.

Our campsite for 3 nights is on the Khwai River. It is private and exclusively for the use of our group, providing a feeling of complete Africa immersion. Our comfortable, mobile safari camp will be set up before you arrive.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Accommodation: Accommodation on safari for 3 nights is in roomy walk-in style, insect and mozzie proof tents with each tent having an attached private hot shower and toilet. Camp bed with thick foam mattress, warm doonas and covers, pillows, pillow slips, tent lighting and comfy safari chairs and wash basin add to your comfort. Camp is set up in a shady spot with views over the surrounding area. A central camp, with large, open-sided communal dinner tent and meeting area with comfortable chairs and tables is always available. Tea, coffee, and biscuits are also available all day at the central tent. If in camp during the day, morning or afternoon tea is served. Dinner is set at the table, under the stars. All camp duties are amplified and stimulating. Elephants are frequent camp visitors, and a wild and wide variety of animals and birds can be viewed near and around your campsite. For safety, your campsite is monitored by staff, day, and night.

The program for the next two days will be, early rise with tea, coffee and a light breakfast served by the fire. We will then depart for a morning game drive, arriving back in camp for a brunch/lunch and then siesta/showers/chill time.
