How To Find Cheap Flights

How many hours can you afford to lose trawling the internet looking for that cheap flight, or even pounding the pavement from one travel agency to the next!!  I know plenty of people who have spent hours googling "cheap flights" on the internet (me being one of them) and at the end of it all, have generally come away just as confused as when they began.

Over the years I have managed to sift through many online options for booking cheap travel and have accumulated a heap of resources, some of which I would like to share with those of you who are "frustrated googlers".

Try these sites and compare prices/airlines and routes:

www.kayak.com/flights

KAYAK helps people find the best travel choices easily by searching the data from hundreds of travel sites at once. KAYAK lets you compare options, and when you find something that fits your budget and tastes, you book it where you want: at the airline site, from the hotel, or from a travel agent.

www.skyscanner.net/

Skyscanner is a powerful, flexible and fun way of finding the cheapest flights. They provide instant comparison on flight prices for over 670,000 routes on over 600 airlines, as well as price comparison for car hire, hotels and holidays.

.....then use either an Online Agency

like FLIGHT CENTRE to check prices, submit an online booking query and wait for a representative to get back to you within 24 hours to assist you with your booking.  Flight Centre is still Australia's number one website used when planning travel.

or JETABROAD based in Sydney, the only travel company in Australia that provides online access to fares from more than 450 airlines - providing literally millions of flight options around the world.

.....or a booking site once you have compared prices (some of these charge a booking fee, so don't forget to factor that in).

AirfaresFlights.com.au is an independent Australian travel website. Unlike other travel websites, this site does not sell airfares or package deals- rather it is an online travel directory.

....then it's worth checking the Airline itself

Air Asia - Cheap flights, great last minute specials and relatively comfortable for a low cost carrier.  Fly to KL cheap and then once in KL you can fly to other destinations (including London) for a fraction of the full service carriers.

Jetstar - Budget Airline with cheap deals throughout Australia.  They also offer cheap deals to asia.  Worth a look.

This is just a few of my favourites...I will add some more to these as time permits.
