Marked as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, Ibiza's most famous landmark, the Dalt Vila Renaissance Walls, can be found here. Majorca

Majorca has long been a holiday destination for families as it has a host of beautiful swimming beaches as well as activities to keep all ages entertained. However, history buffs are still catered for with a number of historical sites dotted around the island.

One of the most iconic buildings on the island is Palma's Cathedral, also known as La Seu. This magnificent structure dates back to the 13th century, yet it took nearly 400 years to complete! Even older than the Cathedral is the remains of an Arabian bathhouse which were estimated to have been built in the 10th century. Country estates and their immaculate grounds are plentiful, plus the Botanical Garden in Soller makes for a lovely afternoon outing.

For a charming stay, book your break away at the Can Cera Boutique Hotel in the historic center of Palma del Majorca. The 13th century manor house has been recently refurbished to include all of the mod cons that you need for a convenient stay while also retaining its historic charm. For a stay close to the Cathedral try the Calatrava Boutique Hotel. This five-star hotel has rave reviews and a large terrace area which overlooks the sweeping Bay of Palma. Alternatively, you can vacation in style with your own private Majorca Villa thanks to Finishing Touch Holidays.

Menorca

Menorca is seen as the little sister of Majorca, yet it still has a varied selection of activities as well as a number of historical hot spots that are well worth a visit. It is approximately 70 kilometers from the north to the south and 95 kilometers from the east to the west of the island, making it relatively easy to explore by car.

For the best views on the island make your way to the top of Monte Toro. On a clear day you may even be able to see as far as Majorca! At the top of the hill there is a 17th century sanctuary, part of which is still in use today by nuns. The Nevatas are and the Nateda d'es Tudons are perhaps some of the most ancient monuments on the island. Dating back to around 1000 BC these collection of stone structures are believed to be tombs, watchtowers, dwellings and burial places.

For your own slice of paradise near to unspoilt beaches and hidden coves book a stay in the south eastern end of the island. If you're traveling with families and you want to be near the beaches and a number of kid-friendly restaurants and attractions then try the north western part of the island.

The five-star Cap Rocat Hotel Majorca is one of the most exclusive and luxurious places to stay on the island. With a saltwater swimming pool, palatial-sized rooms that have four poster beds and such an excellent restaurant you will find it hard to leave the hotel. For a more affordable try the Colonia de Sant Jordi Club Hotel. Located on the quieter south-eastern corner of the island, this quaint hotel has simple yet modern rooms and a large swimming pool area. A bonus is the hotel's seven clay courts as well as the excellent range of water sports that can be enjoyed nearby.
