Often regarded as the most impressive walking trail in the Blue Mountains, the Grand Canyon Walk will leave you in awe as you hike through lush rainforest with several creek crossings, waterfalls, huge sandstone walls and rock overhangs.
Constructed and opened to the public in 1907, the 6km long Grand Canyon walking track was the first of its kind and has since been challenged by thousands of hiking enthusiasts each year.
Our NSW Adventurous Woman, Deb Grivas will be hosting this fabulous walk as she has walked it several times, is an experienced bush walker, holds a senior first aid certificate and knows the track (and the Blue Mountains) like the back of her hand.
Where to Meet:
Deb will meet you all at 10.00am near the toilets at the The Grand Canyon Loop carpark - the car park is fairly large.
She will be wearing a bright orange Adventurous Women ® ™ Cap for easy identification. Her Mobile Number is 0409085463, should you need to make contact with her as there is mobile phone coverage there.
Lunch Afterwards for those wishing to stay on and celebrate their achievement:
Depending upon final numbers for the walk (and the weather forecast for the day), we have two alternatives, a picnic in the Blue Mountains, or lunch at the "Victory Theatre” in Blackheath which is 5 mins drive away (It’s an old cinema that’s now a huge antique and vintage emporium with a cute cafe out the front). Prices are about $15-20 for lunch. (http://www.victorytheatre.com.au/)
The Picnic or Cafe will be confirmed about a week prior to the walk and everyone will be notified via email of the final arrangements.

A perfect day out to escape from the everyday; a great mix of relaxation and trying new things!
I can highly recommend this adventure! Neville and Belle made us feel very welcome on the amazing catamaran. And as always, Sue O was the best and most thoughtful guide. I would definitely do this again!
The best afternoon I've had in a while, couldn't think of a better, more fun, inclusive, invigorating & after ... relaxing way to spend an afternoon.
Special thanks to our Organisers for the wonderful afternoon T & catch up - really hit the spot :).
I'm becoming a Member & looking forward to more Adventures with like minded, amazing women.
Thanks to Jo and Simone for a fun day learning to surf with a great group of like-minded women
This was a very interesting walk looking at amazing views and architecture toped off with very informative historic details that Chris delivered. Also an enjoyable social catchup with pizza and a larger. Thanks Chris
Wonderful afternoon having heaps of fun trying hard to learn how to surf. Laughed lots ! Jo and Simone were just lovely. Great afternoon tea afterwards
Another fantastic AW activity. Such fun to explore an area of the Swan River that is not well known or easily accessed and the ‘scrambling’ over a range of obstacles just added to the enjoyment and the challenge. Leonie, from Water Wanderers Wanderers, excelled herself with our picnic lunch and her enthusiasm for our river adventure.
What a great afternoon! Good fun!
A great way to spend a fun filled afternoon on the river thank you for yet another memorable adventure.
