Adventurous Women, grab the man or men in your life and join us on this epic self drive 4WD trip of a lifetime travelling from the northernmost tip of Australia along some of the toughest and most iconic off road tracks in the country and finishing up in Cairns. 


If you have ever wanted to attempt the iconic tropical Queensland / Cape Tribulation 4WD tracks: The Bloomfield Track, The Old Telegraph Track and Frenchmans Track this is the trip for you.

This self drive trip is fully supported by 4WD expert leaders and includes everything you need for the journey, just fly in to Bamaga (from Cairns)  to meet the group and we take of the rest. 


You will be supplied with your very own "Beast", a comfortable, airconditioned automatic Nissan GU Patrol as well as all camping equipment, camp chairs, table, awnings, awning tents, swags, camp lighting, crockery, cutlery etc. and a highly experienced guide team to get you through the toughest of sections. 

There is a minimum of 2 and maximum of 3 Drivers allowable for each "Beast" and all 2 or 3 in the vehicle take it turns in being passenger or driver for the duration of the trip (of course this is optional if you don't wish to drive at all). -

If it's just you and your partner, then the price is $4990.00 each for this tour,

or if there are 3 of you travelling together in the one vehicle the price reduces to $4160.00 per person.

 

A Little about the "Beasts" and the 4WD experience:

With auto gear box, power steering and air con, you drive in comfort and style. 4WD enthusiasts will love the tours, but no previous 4WD experience is required, just be a confident and competent driver. Our guides will assist.Our tours embrace every 4WD icon and must do that the Cape offers.You miss nothing. Hit all the famous 4WD tracks and enjoy the best of the Aussie bush, including great tucker, camp fires under the stars,  refreshing swims  in welcoming streams and in the mornings rise to the call of wild birds heralding new adventures!

Itinerary

Depart Cairns at 07:00, arrive in to Bamaga at 09:00 and be met on arrival at the airport by your Guide with your fully set up "Beast".

Your fridge will be cold and ready so we will take a drive to local supermarket to stock up on personal snack and beverage items before a short scenic drive that afternoon to Punsand Bay Camp, Australia’s most northerly campsite.

Here a full introduction to your Beast will be conducted and a team briefing.

Dinner tonight is at the rustic restaurant overlooking the golden sand beach and turquoise waters of the Arafura Sea.

Note for Day 1: Flights are not included – airfares start from approx. $300 one way with Rex Airlines to Bamaga.

Alternatively you can arrive via Torres Strait Island.

Fares from Cairns at 0800 to Horn Island 1025 start from approx. $180

Today we're up early for sunrise at the very Tip of Australia!

A great way to start a great adventure. Today is a late breakfast, before heading over to Somerset for a historical introduction to the Cape then on to the beautiful 5 Beach’s Track, a great track to build a connection with your Beast.

On the way we stop in for a visit to the Croc Tent as no Cape York trip is complete without a croc tent souvenir.

After the Croc tent we push on to Loyalty Beach campsite and another beach front restaurant dinner

Day 3 sees us begin with a ferry ride over the croc infested Jardine River to begin our journey on the Old Telegraph Track, a VERY challenging track that was used in the 1880s to connect Cairns with Thursday Island.

Highlight's today include the notorious Nolan's Brook, the deepest and most formidable water crossing on the track, and the Cape’s best swimming holes at Eliot Falls and Fruit Bat Falls.

Today sees us tackle some of the tracks famous obstacles on our way to Bramwell Station for the night.

First up is Gunshot Creek - A major obstacle with it's steep banks that provides a challenge to most vehicles then Palm Creek, considered one of the more difficult on the track.

Tonight we will get to enjoy live entertainment and dinner at the station

This morning we will start the day with a visit to the historic Moreton Telegraph Station before we test our 4WD skills on the infamous Frenchmans Track which features stunning scenery as we make way across the Pascoe River and the Wenlock River.

We camp tonight in some beautiful bushland near Chilli Beach in the Kutini-Payamu (Iron Range) National Park.

Today we push on via backroads to the Archer River Roadhouse, then Coen for a well deserved cold beverage at the S-exchange Hotel after all the hot dusty roads before head on through through Lakefield National Park to camp the night at Musgrave Roadhouse.

We continue on through the Lakefield National Park to historic old Laura Homestead, originally built in 1892.

After we leave Laura Homestead we will follow Battlecamp Rd to Cooktown where we will have time to take a walk to the lighthouse for a picturesque view of the rocky outcrops and pay a visit to the James Cook Museum, where the story of Cook's landing is told from the Aboriginal perspective. It also gives a detailed history of this beautiful, remote and utterly unique part of the country.

Camp and dinner tonight is at the famous Lions Den Hotel.

We start the day on the beautiful Bloomfield Track to Cape Tribulation where the rainforest meets the reef.

Next stop, Daintree Village to hit the Daintree river for an hour on a Croc Spotting cruise before enjoying some time to explore the quaint village before enjoying a jungle walk at the beautiful Mossman Gorge.

We head to our Cairns base, the Cairns Colonial Club Resort to unpack and clean up in preparation for dinner tonight which includes a Certificate presentation.

Accommodation

The last night will be spent at the Cairns Colonial Club Resort in double room or twin share accommodation. Then for the duration of our road trip to the tip, each night will be spent in either National Parks (where there is a toilet and sometimes shower), Commercial Campgrounds where you'll find a nice shower & toilet or Bush Camps utilising our camp shower and portable toilet.  If you are one of three in a vehicle and would like your own room at this hotel the cost is $60.00



Sleeping Arrangements:  (You have your own swag either double or single at no additional cost)

Any number of either are supplied: – double size swags, or cot swags with mozzie and rain covers, or camp stretchers with mattress. All vehicles have two side awnings. We provide under awning clip in tents which are easily fitted if it rains or to add privacy or personal space if required. Most people choose to sleep out in swags with a view of the stars.  For hygiene reasons we do not supply sleeping bag or pillow. For a small charge, sleeping bag and pillow can be supplied to collect at tour start. These items remain your property.
